Last month, I had the privilege of photographing Hannah and Brandon’s peach 1913 the Heartland Barn wedding! Tanner wasn’t working with me during their wedding, and boy do I feel bad for him! He missed one of the most laid back and fun weddings I’ve ever shot! Not to mention, the color scheme was flawless, the decor was incredible, and that VENUE!! Do I need to say more?!

This had potential to be a rough weekend for me. This was my 4th wedding of the month, and I was just a week away from taking my much need festival vacation. But truly, getting to serve such fun-loving people like Hannah, Brandon, and their family and friends, made my weekend a piece of cake! I’ve never had the chance to shoot at 1913 the Heartland Barn before either, so that’s always an exciting change to find the best light and locations!

The real reason I knew this wedding was going to be awesome, though? Hannah & Brandon are, legit, two of the coolest, most down-to-earth people I know. I knew that even if everything went haywire during their wedding day, they’d roll with it. They’d embrace the chaos. And they wouldn’t let any amount of disruption affect how special this day was for them. And because that’s just who they are as people, their entire day was as smooth as butter. Maybe there were some hiccups here and there, but I don’t remember a single one because Hannah & Brandon brushed those hiccups off like it was no big deal! So for all of the brides & future brides out there… take note! When you don’t let the minor details bother you, your wedding really will be perfect!

When I arrived at the venue, I was completely mind blown! As much as I want to think my photos do the 1913 the Heartland Barn justice, they really don’t. You pull in to this small gravel road on the border of Indiana & Ohio, and you’re greeted by nothing other than two cornfields on either side! Oh Indiana, don’t worry, no one is judging you. But if you look a little farther down the road, you see an incredible, unique barn tucked away in the corner.

As I was prepping Brandon for the first look with his bride, the girls pulled up all at once. It. was. go-time! Without a minute to for Hannah to even think about what was happening, she began walking up to her groom with tense shoulders and the cutest smile on her face! And with just a tap on the shoulder, their wedding day had finally begun.

I’ve found myself at a loss for words the more I think about what to write. I keep scrolling down this post for inspiration. And I keep re-reading what I’ve already written, just trying to find the words that can truly express how wonderful Hannah & Brandon’s wedding was. And the more I scroll down, the more I realize that pictures do speak a thousand words. So while I might not have the best writing skillz today, I do have a blog post full of breathtaking images from top to bottom. And these images can tell their love story much better than I can.

Seriously, though. Hannah. Brandon. From the first time we got to know each other during your windy engagement session, I knew that I was going to love your wedding day — and I did. Almost as much as I love both of you (awwwwwww)! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for the trust you placed in me to document the biggest day of your life together thus far. I hope you love looking back on these memories (especially your hilarious reception photos!), and I hope you never forget just how beautiful, how calm, and how magical your wedding day was.
