Crystal Clear Old World Romance {Laurel Hall Styled Wedding Workshop}

Laurel Hall Styled Wedding Workshop So a long long time ago (way back in June!), I held a mini photography workshop for our Crystal Clear Old World Romance, Laurel Hall Styled Wedding! We had been planning this Laurel Hall Styled Wedding for months, but it was just one thing after another of things not going as planned, but we kept managing to make it work! Probably because we had an incredible team of determined vendors behind it! I am so glad we didn’t throw in the towel because this day was so beautiful, so romantic, and so fun! I may have even had more fun watching the workshop participants go crazy over all the pretty details!

Our goal was to hopefully have our Laurel Hall Styled Wedding featured in one of our favorite wedding blogs, but after nearly 4 months of submitting and waiting and submitting and waiting, I think its time to let the workshop participants post their work! We will continue to submit this Old World Romance Styled Wedding, but in the meantime, I’m just excited to see everyone’s work!

We wanted to take this styled wedding in a completely new direction while still using trendy styles! We HAD to incorporate velvet, so we used a black table cloth to really add contrast to our color scheme as well as embrace a vintage vibe! We drew more vintage inspiration from antique candle holders and colored wine goblets. And to top it off, we rented a beautiful velvet love seat for our floral installation showstopper!

This styled shoot wouldn’t be complete without our favorite trend (that we hope never goes out of style!): transparent elements! We have been super in love with Ghost chairs and acrylic invitation suites this past year, but we haven’t seen a lot of brides embracing the transparency! Since we love it so much, we really wanted to show a unique way to incorporate clear elements!

When we were creating the concept for our Laurel Hall Styled Wedding, we knew wanted to incorporate multiple styles while keeping it cohesive. We had ideas for vintage elements and for modern transparent elements, but we wanted to include subtle hints of the very popular (and my personal favorite) bohemian style! One of our coordinators, Amanda, had the amazing idea of showcasing a unique tablescape using a blue patterned vinyl as a table top instead of using a linen table cloth! We fell in love with that idea and are SO happy with how it turned out!

On top of incorporating black hints in our concept, we embraced the Ultra-Violet “color of the year”, along with peaches, blues, and yellows! Talk about a colorful bohemian vibe! The final boho touches to tie our entire concept together were the simple and organic ceremony arch hung with delicate, glass, prisms!

Seeing all of it come together was so rewarding and fun but my FAVORITE part of our Laurel Hall Styled Wedding was hosting a workshop for photographers to work in a safe place with tons of pretty details, a super fun couple, and the BEST wedding vendors in Indiana! This was my first time hosting a mini-workshop where other photographers got to see how I work, interact with couples, and learn some tips and tricks for photographing the details of the day! Watching our workshop participants was the best part and it was such a great way to test the waters with photography workshops!

I know this has been a long blog post, but I just have one more thing to say. To all of the workshop participants and our amazing team of wedding vendors, thank you SO much! Thank you, thank you, thank you! You all helped make this styled wedding what it was and I had the best time working with everyone and getting to know more photographers in our area! I cannot wait to do this again… and hopefully soon! 😉
