Jordan & JP’s winter wedding was my second to last of 2016! Lucky lucky lucky for EVERYONE at their wedding that these beautiful newlyweds decided to have their wedding on Friday instead of Saturday. Let me remind you that the Saturday following their wedding was the first ice storm of the year. Roads were backed up for hours upon hours. There was no way anyone (including the bride & groom!) would have made it to the wedding! Jordan & JP, having your wedding on Friday was the best decision you could have made!

I greeted Jordan that morning in her bridal suite, all the way up on the highest floor of the Indianapolis JW Marriot where I was STUNNED by the view! Indianapolis was covered in a perfect layer of snow! I’m going to say this with the biggest amount of love, that morning was hectic! Bridal prep slowly started to run late, between going back and forth between Jordan & JP’s rooms, JP thinking he lost the rings (he didn’t!), and then to top it off, the valet took over 30 minutes to bring their car around! But this didn’t stop anyone from having a good time! Once we arrived at the ceremony location, Jordan, JP, and the whole wedding party had to head outside for some very cold portraits. And I mean VERY cold. I think it was 30 degrees that day and the wind definitely didn’t help! So right now, I want to thank the entire crew for holding it together while we were outside! I know it was freezing, but they did such a great job with listening to instructions and keeping a super happy face for the photos! We were able to get back inside after about 15-20 minutes!

Following their ceremony, it was time to head to their insanely unique wedding reception! JP is a racecar nut, so what better place to hold their celebration than at the Dallara IndyCar Factory! Their grand entrance even included an awesome ride on one of the indycars! It started off with such a bang! The music was great, their food was AMAZING, there was SO much love going around for the newlyweds! But THEN! Get ready for a twist! 10 minutes or so goes by and Jordan, her family, and I notice that we haven’t seen her groom in a while. So we let Jordan tend to the matter. 30 minutes or so after that, they’ve both gone missing.

I started to get pretty worried about them when the coordinator comes to tell me that JP had gotten motion sickness from riding in the limo backwards on the way to the reception! OH. NO. First off, props to JP for holding it together during the main portion of the reception! Soon after… Jordan & JP snuck out to spend the rest of their night in the ER! Full disclosure, JP is fine! One might think that this was a terrible happening, but now that it’s over, we think it’s one heck of a story to tell their future children.

Jordan & JP, your wedding was absolutely crazy in the best way possible! I was constantly on my toes! I’m so grateful to both you and your wedding party for making that cold, but warm-hearted, and unpredictable day one to remember! I love you guys and I can’t wait to see you again at our anniversary session! (But maybe this time we’ll make sure JP faces forward) 😉
