{Emily & Cory} – Midwest Historic Garden Wedding

Emily Davis & Cory Barker
Langley Hall, Toledo, Ohio
August 9th, 2015

Emily & Cory met in the Popular Culture Scholars Association at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. Cory was finishing up his Master of Arts degree and Emily was finishing up her undergraduate degree. Despite both of them being EXTREMELY hard workers, dedicated to their scholar work, they were determined to spend time with each other, even if just meeting at the campus coffee shop in between classes!
Slowly, spending minutes with each other turned into spending hours with each other, and spending hours with each other turned into spending days and nights with each other.
On October 10th, two and half years, after their first date, Cory and Emily went on a drive through the country, in awe of the beautiful red and orange foliage. It was one of those chilly days, with the crisp smell of autumn in the air. Now, also image the smell of rain in the air and heavy pitter-patter on the roof of the car because IT. WAS. POURING!
The rain let up for just a few minutes, and that’s when Cory parked the car near a beautiful golden field , and asked for Emily’s hand in going on a brisk walk with him, hehe!
Bundled up in their light jackets and fall hats, he wrapped his arm around her and told her how much he loved her. The next few minutes to follow would be some they will never forget.
As they walked across the golden (but muddy) field together, Cory slowly got down on one knee, but this time, he asked for her hand in marriage. Tears filled Emily’s eyes, and it started to lightly rain again. Covered in mud and rain, they shared their first kiss as fiancé and fiancée.
