I have SO many memories to share with everyone from Sheldon & Brayton’s Acadia National Park Destination Wedding! That’s right! My first destination wedding ever! And I am so incredibly grateful to have been invited into their special day.
When Sheldon & Brayton met with me for the first time to talk about their wedding plans, they said they knew a looong time ago that I was the right photographer for them. And right from the start, I knew we were a perfect match. It’s not every day that you have the opportunity to photograph your dream couple in your dream location. Especially if that couple loves you enough and trusts you enough to fly you across the country! (Seriously, what an honor!)
I spent 4 days in Maine with these two amazing people, and each day was a complete treasure! But the best part was definitely their wedding day. Brayton and the guys were out running errands. Sheldon and the girls were getting ready. The wind was blowing the curtains, you could hear the seagulls, and you could smell the east coast water. Before long, it was time for the first look. We walked out to the porch, where Brayton saw his beautiful, bohemian bride for the first time. It was a long day ahead of us, and an even longer 2 hour drive to Acadia National Park.
We finally arrived at our first location, only for it to be much more crowded than we anticipated! So instead, we decided to head to Otter Cliff for their family formals and use the extra time during the ceremony. And it’s a good thing we did because the weather began to call for storms! Next stop: Jordan Pond! We spent a looong time at this beautiful location! The two mountain formations in the background, clear blue water, gorgeous plant life everywhere… it was a photographers dream!
We drove all the way up to Cadillac Mountain for their ceremony. It had the most incredible view, but once again, we were only one group of many who wanted to see the view. SO, we made a quick decision and walked down to the cliff below. This time, the area was empty. Perfect for a wedding ceremony. They set up their recording cameras, I scouted the area for the best angles. Now, it was time for the ceremony. Surrounded by their closest loved ones, on top of a beautiful mountain, Sheldon & Brayton committed their lives and love to each other. This was the most beautiful ceremony I’ve ever been apart of. It was joyful, genuine, and intimate. Everything a wedding ceremony should be.
During this trip, I got to know the most important people in Sheldon & Brayton’s lives, and I had the honor of being apart of these special memories. There’s nothing I could ever say or do that would show these two just how much they mean to me. Their wedding was epic, to say the least.
