Claire & Matt were the winners of one of my family session giveaways on Instagram (yes, I do giveaways every year, just follow to enter)! Their session was SO sweet to photograph! Their little girls had just welcomed a new baby brother into their home and they were all about giving him all the cuddles! Originally Claire was a little weary about having their session IN the creek, so I told her we would start on the rocky banks part and then move into the creek in the last 10-15 minutes of their session. Well………. that did not happen. I was still getting my settings adjusted when their middle child started taking her shoes off and she just walked right into the water! Haha! Of course! So, with our plans out the window, it was time to roll with the punches and let the kids lead the session. Wherever they wanted to go, we followed. The kids wanted to play in the sand? Done. Splash in the water? No problem. Climb on fallen trees? Heck yes. If I’ve learned anything from family sessions, its that you should just let your kids be kids and the results will speak for themselves.
