Sarah & Chris’ Southern Ocala House Georgia wedding was our LAST one of 2018! And funny enough they were our first engagement session of the year as well! I can’t believe 2018 is already over! But we definitely ended it right with the most incredible destination wedding! Not to mention we got to escape from Indiana’s ice storms for a whole week! No matter how much I want to go back and do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing about their special day!

These two met under complicated circumstances that would have pushed any relationship apart, but instead it brought them closer together! Sarah was attending her senior year of college in Alabama. And Chris happened to be stationed near her for military training. They met on Valentine’s day 4 years ago, but Sarah was not only going to graduate that year but also move to Europe. And guess who was getting ready to move back to Indiana!? Chris! Talk about serious long distance. But they made it work with many many extra long Skype sessions!

Sarah finally made the move back to Indiana just last year! It was finally time for Sarah and Chris to take a weekend for themselves down at French Lick! They made plans to explore, hike, and FINALLY have their first getaway with each other! Their Southern Ocala House Georgia Wedding day started just like any other day. But you could feel the excitement and calmness in the air. Maybe it was the soft sunshine, or the wind subtly brushing through the spanish moss. Coming down the long, fenced driveway, the Ocala House started to peek through the trees. It was going to be a good day.

Sarah & Chris had a few very special moments planned, including a private vow reading & handfasting ceremony with Chris’ paratrooper parachute cord. We absolutely love when our brides & groom’s include something extra personal to them, especially when their parents are involved! Tons of giggles and quite a few tears later, we headed up to the balcony for Sarah to spend some time with her four most favorite girls! Her flower girls and junior bridesmaids are such a big part of Sarah’s life, that we just had to set aside time for some cute confetti photos!

Before we knew it, Chris was standing at the alter watching his gorgeous bride walk towards him. And can we please take a second to admire whoever had the genius idea to stagger their bridal party at the alter instead of line them up in the traditional rows! Their ceremony started off quiet and calm, with Sarah & Chris exchanging subtle looks of “I love you”. But then my absolute favorite part of their Ocala House Georgia wedding happened. A giant flock of geese flew over head during their final prayer! And they were loud. REALLY loud! In this moment, the only thing to do was bust out laughing! It was a super fun ending to their southern wedding ceremony and I secretly hope something like that happens at every ceremony from here on out!

Sarah & Chris, we LOVE you guys! We are grateful beyond words for you and your families! Tanner and I had the best time with you and I’m still in shock about how incredible the entire day was! We honestly could not have asked for anything better. Your Ocala House Georgia Wedding was the perfect way to end our 2018 season. Thank you for everything, you guys! You deserve the entire world and we know that if your love can stand long distance, it can stand the test of time!
