Skye & Levi’s rustic, whimsical, and rainy Turkey Run wedding was a blast!! Every part of their day was filled with tons of laughter! But there were also many parts where I just couldn’t help but to tear up. I think Skye’s crying count was up to 10 by the time the reception began! When we got home to select the images, Tanner and I could not stop cracking up at all the fun moments! Especially a few of the behind the scene’s that Skye & Levi didn’t get to see!

Skye & Levi met in college and ended up spending many office hours working together! Their friends said they could hear Skye’s laughter all the way down the hall when she was with Levi. Over the next year and half, they developed a super close friendship, but neither of them wanted to admit that they both had stronger feelings for each other. One evening over the summer, they were cooking dinner together as usual when Levi just had to tell Skye how he really felt! They spent their very first date night dancing to live jazz music at the Chatterbox in Indy! Skye & Levi both said it was the best first date either of them had been on!

In June last year, Levi took Skye to the IMA for a romanic date. They walked around the gardens and 100 acre woods, talking about how much they have changed for the better since they met one another. While Levi and Skye were reminiscing about the time when Levi was still “in the friend zone”, he turned to her and told her that he hasn’t been this happy in his entire life. Levi got down on one knee and asked Skye to be his best friend for the rest of his life.

Their Turkey Run wedding started off at a cute, rustic, air b&b in a tiny little town. Willie, Skye’s brides-man (and the first brides-man we’ve ever photographed!), answered the door and as soon as he let us in, we heard Skye and the girls laughing upstairs. We had a lot of activities planned for the morning, so Tanner and I quick got to work photographing all of her beautifully whimsical details!

Before we packed up and headed out to their Turkey Run wedding, we spent some time with Skye’s aunt & grandmother who have both been a very important part of Skye’s life. Her grandpa had planted a peach tree a long while ago, and the year he left this Earth, the tree did as well. But not before producing the sweetest batch of peaches from its lifetime. Skye, her aunt, and her grandma all spent a very special moment drinking the last bottle of peach wine that her grandpa had a hand in making. It was such a sweet and beautiful moment, and we were all in tears, to say the least (it was like waterworks central).

The forecast had been calling for rain on and off… surprise, surprise. This wedding season has been unusually rainy, but that never stops us from enjoying their day! While we were on our way to Skye & Levi’s Turkey Run wedding, it started pouring. And right as we pulled in to the parking lot venue, the rain let up! We didn’t waste anytime getting portraits done because who knew when the rain would pick up again (hint, it stayed away for the rest of the day)!

Their wedding went exactly as planned and it was FILLED with tons of photo worthy moments! After Skye & Levi shared their first look, they spent some time reading private vows to each other. Which again, had us in tears. During their ceremony, they planted their first tree together, and during their reception, their best man and maid of honor gave the most hilarious toasts we’ve ever heard! Throughout the day there was just so much that happened that only photos can tell the true story of their rustic and whimsical Turkey Run wedding.
