I honestly don’t know where to begin with Kayla & Myles‘ Brown County Indiana Autumn Elopement. I’ve been sitting here typing and backspacing for an hour now just trying to find the right words. I hope the photos speak for themselves. But let’s just start from the beginning.
I met Myles at my first music festival. We always went with a group of twenty or so people. Getting to know him and his real self took a little while. Not because Myles hides his real self, but because I didn’t believe a human could be that down to earth and cool. He reminded me during their wedding weekend that we had traveled across the country together (for a festival), packed into the back seat of our friends two door car… without air conditioning haha And when I tell you my jaw dropped, it dropped. I had completely forgotten that we shared that experience! Speaking of festivals, I met Joe, Myles’ best man, for the first time at a music festival as well. I have many memories of that weekend, but the ones that stick out the most are of Joe being a great friend to me.
When Kayla first reached out about their Brown County Indiana Autumn Elopement, I didn’t even realize it was her at first! And once I did, it was all set in stone from there! We met up plenty of times to discuss their vision for their day and the activities they had planned. Almost everything they wanted happened. We spent time stargazing in the hot tub the night before their elopement day. We went on a morning hike and found sleeping bees! All of us went to lunch at the cutest country cafe. We did all the things and stuff.
But we didn’t plan on meeting a stray kitty while we were at the Farmhouse Cafe. And sometimes you have to rearrange your priorities. So… we skipped their downtown photo session and headed straight to the store to pick up kitty supplies. That’s right folks. Kayla & Myles are the proud new parents of a wedding day kitty! That’s basically the literal beauty of elopements. You can do whatever the hell you want because you have a flexible schedule.
Once we got back to their Airbnb and got their precious kitty settled in, it wasn’t long before the sun started to set. Which meant, it was almost ceremony time! We headed out to the highest point for their Brown County Indiana Autumn Elopement, but when we got there, the location was pretty busy. No surprise though, its a gorgeous view! But for Myles & Kayla, privacy was just a little more important than the view. Luckily we had a back up plan!
Our backup location was PERFECT! We had some hills peaking through, gorgeous trees with orange and yellow leaves, and complete and total privacy for Myles & Kayla to say their vows. A perfect ending to their beautiful day. We made our way home to stargaze and admire the moon one last time before hitting the hay, because tomorrow was going to be another goodie, filled with all the love from their friends and family at The Blessing Barn.
Don’t have crochet hook? Use a fork. Myles loves maps. He’s a map guy. And now they have a map of where they met.
