Country Winter Engagement {Lauren & Evan}

Country Winter EngagementI met Lauren & Evan for the first time back in November. It seems like SO long ago that we met for dinner to talk about their Midwest Spring Wedding! We hit it off super well, and I even found out that Evan and I share a love for macaroni & cheese! Yum. We had planned for a Country Winter Engagement Session with lots of snow, but as their wedding date got closer and closer, we knew we couldn’t wait any longer.

We hoped and hoped that by the end of January there would be at least a little bit of snow on the ground, but we weren’t so lucky. Nope. In fact, the forecast called for rain. And lots of it. But these two awesome people decided to throw caution to the wind and have their session in the rain! The night before I had stayed up late and figured I would check the weather one more time before going to bed (as if it were going to be any different from the previous 50 times)! To my surprise, checking the weather 51 times DID cause it to change and we had a rain free engagement session!

Afterwards, Evan’s family invited me in for dinner. Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a VERY picky eater! haha So I was pretty hesitant about accepting the invite, but then I heard the words “potato soup”…. and I was sold. I sat my butt down and had the most wonderful dinner with Lauren and Evan’s family! Not only was the engagement session super amazing, but being able to get to know their parents and talk to one another without having to pose was pretty great too! So brides, take notes! Photographers love when your family invites them to dinner with potato soup (or maybe that’s just me)! Lauren & Evan’s early April wedding will kick off my 2016 season and if it is anything at all like their engagement session, then great things are definitely in store for these two!
