I have for sure said this at least 1000 times already, but WOW! Evangeline & Collin’s Jacob Henry Mansion Estate wedding was seriously to die for! Every little detailed was so thought out and beautifully colorful! These two gave us 100% throughout the entire day! Cute nuzzle pose? No problem. Continuous giggling? They crushed it. Flash mob first dance? Check! The list goes on and on! I still can’t believe WE were the lucky ones chosen to be their photographers!
Vangie & Collin met on their first day of college in their Chemistry class at IU (check out their IU Campus engagement session)! Before finally feeling the “chemistry” between them (hehe), they spent most of their time together as study buddies just getting to know each other. Before their wedding day, they had been long distance for 4 years! But when they did get days and nights with each other, they loved trying new cuisines and different restaurants, traveling, and learning about other cultures. My kind of couple!
Collin proposed during Christmastime (Vangie’s favorite time of the year) at Lincoln Park Zoolights – a Christmas light display showcase hosted at the Zoo each year! Collin decided to make his own zoolights which said “Vangie will you marry me?” She said it was SO adorable, but she responded like a deer in the headlights! I think that it just so funny because I would probably be the same way! Luckily, all of her family was there to record and take pictures of the proposal!
The day started in a gorgeous hotel in Joliet, Illinois where hair and make-up was being done. Vangie was surrounded with so much love from her girls and her mother! While I was photographing the bridal details in the other room, I kept hearing all of the bridesmaids cracking up with laughter. I’m pretty sure Vangie’s heart was exploding with gratitude at this point, because mine sure was and I was just overwhelmed with the love that they were feeling that morning!
After Vangie & Collin were finished with preparations, all of us headed to the Jacob Henry Mansion Estate for their first look! Collin’s reaction was SO precious! He was straight up psyched to see his gorgeous bride! In case you didn’t know, first look reactions are my absolute favorite, and if you’re on the fence about having a first look… you should definitely do it! They spent so much time just giggling and giggling with each other. It honestly felt like they could not believe what was happening! It was the cutest first look ever!
We had been waiting all day to photograph their reception decor, and when we finally got to, we were in detail heaven! I knew these two had big plans for their reception decor, and it definitely didn’t disappoint! The Jacob Henry Mansion Estate is enough of a show stopper in itself! Then add on gorgeous chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, adorable mini tree’s as centerpieces, along with the most beautiful cake you’ve ever seen, and you have yourself a recipe for the most elegant reception of all time!
Vangie & Collin, during your first look, I leaned over to Tanner and commented on how you two really really LIKE each other. Of course you love each other, but you two LIKE each other. The kind of like where you’ll never get sick of each other, even for a second! Can’t you just imagine, when you’re both older, you’ll still be dancing around and being your most silly selves? And it seriously melts my heart knowing how perfect you are for each other. We love everything about you and we feel so honored to have been apart of your special day!
