Mid-August, I hosted my first ever coaching session! After deciding I was going to be a teacher in 1st grade, I sort of took a completely different direction after high school… cue photography dream! 3 photographers + 4 hours of learning + a live summer night engagement session with my favorite couple + pizza = I want to coach all the time! This was SO important to me because after nearly a decade of pursuing a photography career, I have finally figured out a way to implement my dream of teaching! After my students left with an overload of information, I was on a huge photography high! The entire experience went SO well and seeing my students have those “lightbulb” moments was incredible! I felt more inspired than ever, and my love for photography grew ten-fold!

A part of the coaching session included a live mini-session with a REAL couple! And you might recognize these two from their Fairfield Lakes Family Session! Aka, the family session that inspired me to open up my calendar to more family sessions! After what Lindsey & Ryan did for me, I just HAD to say thank you! And what better way than to offer them an engagement session during my coaching class!

I was shooting head shots for my students when I saw Ryan & Lindsey walking up with the biggest smiles on their faces! So of course, I immediately dropped everything to run and give them a hug! I was SO excited to see them again! After catching up for a bit, we started the live mini-session, but not before being eaten alive by mosquitoes. And this continued for the rest of the session. Yuck. But Lindsey & Ryan were just so grateful to even be there at all, they didn’t let the mosquitoes ruin their session!

After the sun had set, reality sank in that our session was over. Cue immediate sadness. Lindsey & Ryan, thank you so much! Thank you for being an amazing couple who so clearly loves the heck out of each other, for being so kind and welcoming to my students, for dealing with the mosquitoes like a pro, for helping me out with this, and again for inspiring me to photograph more family sessions! I love you guys and I cannot wait until the next time I see you!
